#166 Rolling Fork The Wisdom of Age Lignum Vitae
Blend of rums, 80% LROK, 10% C<>H, 10% DOK, aged 1 year
Review
Smell
There’s much more sharpie than the 1-year-aged LROK, but otherwise, very similar nose: lots of banana, pineapple and extremely fruity.
Taste
Immediately, it’s way funkier than anything I’ve had so far this month. Maybe it’s not fair because C<>H and DOK do a lot of work, but it’s a similar overall profile: very heavy banana, pineapple, and a bit of aged notes, but it’s hard to tell much drinking it neat.
It is so much more complex and interesting daiquiri. LROK is not as one-note at LFCH, but this daiquiri brings another level of fruity complexity. It’s so rich, funky, and bursting with interesting flavor.
Verdict 8.5/10
I think it’s not quite as good as Stolen Rum Overproof, but much better than the two pure LROKs. When we get so high in scores, it’s always a tough call, but I am happy calling it equal to the great house 2024, with 8.5/10
